2010 court repairs / upgrades

The front wall of court 4, which is the left-hand glass-backed court as you look at the front wall, has been in need of a good repair / upgrade for some seasons now. The patch-ups just haven't lasted more than a couple of hard hits by the girls.

Court 4 is having a new front wall put in between Monday 21st June 2010 and Friday 2nd July 2010.

The wall might look as if it's been completely finished by about Wednesday 23rd June, but the plaster will need to dry completely in order for everything to harden (  ), so nobody must use the court until all work has been completed. If people use the court before it's all finished and the plaster becomes loose, then we've just flushed lots of money down the drain, so to speak.

Hopefully we are paying for new lines to be added to the new wall. I've not checked the quote.

As with all building work, there may be unforseen delays. Just look at those trams which are due to arrive at a station near you pretty soon.

It only took a week to do court four's front wall, and it looked really good once that red line was put on. Just like a real squash court in fact.

I could go on for many hours about the technical skill, the patience and precision required to put the red line all the way across the front wall, not just part way. It was a team effort though but I'll not embarass anyone by naming them. Let's just say that I was there as part of the team.

Many thanks to Jim Macmorran for organising everything (apart from that red line which needed a little bit of something extra).

Now, how many squash players does it take to replace the light bulbs?
